![]() ![]() Switching was easy for me since my first two novels were created from short stories. I put the sequel aside and began writing short stories to pass the time. My short stories were born out of frustration in trying to finish a sequel to my first novel. I find that I love writing short stories because each word has importance more so than a novel.ĭo you find it difficult to switch from one writing type to another? What techniques do you use that help you switch “writing gears”? My third novel is a novella and short stories. Most of the stories are based on people I know, incidents I’ve encountered, or stories I’ve been told. I write novels taking place in the 60s and 70s typically in and around the Cleveland, Ohio area.
